For example, Emily Harris worked with civic and conservation leaders to create a collective vision for thriving Forest Preserves that restore nature and welcome people. Adopted by the Board of Commissioners in 2014, the plan continues to shape priorities and guide investments.

From small meetings to massive civic initiatives and leadership development programs, we facilitate effective gatherings and activities that will ensure engagement, lead to action and generate results.
A prominent example was the Burnham Plan Centennial, using the 100th anniversary of the Plan of Chicago as a catalyst for bold plans and big dreams for the region’s future. Emily Harris created a platform engaging 300 partner organizations to deliver events and long-term legacies including curricula, plans, parks and trails.
Disability Inclusion
Since 2015, Emily Harris has worked with philanthropy, non-profit organizations and public agencies to engage people with disabilities in leadership roles, and to encourage a disability lens in their programs and operations.
She partnered with disability rights leaders to design and launch the nation’s first disability civic leadership program. Advancing Leadership enriches Chicago by connecting leaders with disabilities to non-profit and public sector boards, commissions, task forces, and community leadership opportunities.
